It's amazing to see Jasper develop this fascination for trucks (everything is a truck including cars and trains right now). It's not that his parents are oriented that way. We do spend some time in the car getting to and fro and he loves to play with the cars at the playground but......... That said, we spent an afternoon when Jasper was 12 months old driving from CT to NH pointing out all the trucks we saw. Did that create this fascination or is it just some biological thing with boys? Sure seems to be the case as other parents of boys share similar stories.
Wherever he goes or whenever he sees trucks in a book or on his pj's, he quickly points them out using one of his very first words, "truck".
Fortunately, he balances the fascination of the inanimate with the animate, going "woof, woof" anytime he hears or sees a dog.
Needless to say, a walk around our cozy little neighborhood yields many "woof, woof"s and "truck" in just a 10 minute stroll. I envy his curiosity and vigilant searching for dogs and trucks.
